Summer Vacation Excursions: May, 2013


I) In the Summer Vacation, the school organized an educational excursion for the students of Class VI, VII and VIII, to Khurpatal, Nainital and Jim Corbett National Park.

The departure was scheduled for May 18th. 79 students accompanied by 8 teacher escorts departed from school on board air conditioned coaches, to reach the hill resort of Khurpatal, near Nainital. They spent an enjoyable time sightseeing in Nainital, visiting the Naina Devi Temple, Bhutiya Market, the Mall, etc. The group then proceeded to drive down to the Corbett National Park. They enjoyed time at the beautiful resort, went on a jeep safari through the Bijrani Forest Reserve, visited the Corbett Museum and Garjia Temple. The excursion concluded with the group returning on 22nd May.

 

II) A five day excursion was organized for the students of Class IX and X, to Dharamshala and Palampur.

The students departed in the afternoon of May 18th . 47 students accompanied by 5 teacher escorts departed from school on board air conditioned coaches for the overnight journey to Dharamshala. The students enjoyed local sightseeing in Dharamshala, visiting the Bhagsunag Falls and temple, the Tibetan monastery and residence of Nobel Laureate, the Dalai Lama. A major attraction of the excursion was spending time in Mcleodganj. Driving through Naddi, the group had an opportunity to see the famous St. John’s Church, while driving through tea gardens en route to Palampur in the Kangra Valley. The excursion concluded with a spiritual sojourn to the historical Baijnath Temple, and the Chamunda Devi Temple.

 

 

III) After completing their extra classes, the students of Class XII also proceeded on a five day excursion to Dharamshala and Palampur.  84 students accompanied by 7 teacher escorts enjoyed this excursion from May 26th and returned on May 30th.  The students enjoyed local sightseeing in Dharamshala, visiting the Bhagsunag Falls and temple, the Tibetan monastery and residence of Nobel Laureate, the Dalai Lama.
